01The Reset Retreat

A note on stillness

“Four days to arrive, to soften the body, to remember the quiet underneath the noise.”

Nothing here is rushed, and nothing is compulsory. The only thing asked of you is that you slow down enough to notice the difference.

02Stillness

Chapter I · The Premise

What we mean by reset.

Reset is not a mood, and it is not a holiday. It is a deliberate change in four systems that modern life keeps switched on — each of which responds faster than most women expect.

i.

The nervous system

Everything else waits on this one. Long unclaimed afternoons, breath and sound, to move you out of constant sympathetic drive and into rest — where digestion, repair and deep sleep actually happen.

ii.

The lymphatic system

Lymph has no pump of its own. It moves when you move, when you breathe deeply, when skilled hands move it for you. Daily movement, manual drainage, and a sequence you keep doing at home.

iii.

The circadian rhythm

Light in the morning, dark in the evening, meals and sleep at the same hours. Unglamorous, free, and the most transferable thing you will take home from Marbella.

iv.

The gut

Olive oil, plants at volume, fermented foods, protein at every meal, nothing late at night. What settles the gut tends to settle the skin, the mood, the cycle and the energy that follows.

03The Premise

Chapter II · The Season

Why October is the better reset.

The season after the season. Olive harvest beginning, the sea still warm, the crowds gone home — and a climate that finally lets the body do the work. 22°C in the sun, 14°C by evening.

I.

Cool enough to restore

Heat is a stressor. In July the body spends the day cooling itself; in October it can spend the day repairing — and cool nights deepen sleep.

II.

Autumn light resets the clock

Softer mornings and an earlier dusk make the circadian reset far easier than under high-summer glare. You leave with the routine installed, not just explained.

III.

The first oil of the harvest

The olives are being picked while we are there. The year's first press is the most polyphenol-rich it will ever be — tasted at source, cooked with the same week.

IV.

The quiet town

Empty coastal paths, unhurried restaurants, a hotel that belongs to its guests again. Twelve of us in a palace built for hundreds.

V.

The right moment in your year

Before the last quarter, before the holidays, before winter. Return to the hardest ten weeks already regulated — instead of promising yourself January.

Chapter III · The House

Anantara Villa Padierna Palace.

A picturesque estate in Andalusia, set between Marbella, Benahavís and Estepona — with unrivalled access to the sandy beaches and Mediterranean of the Costa del Sol. A Tuscan-style palace of colonnades, courtyards and long, cool corridors, chosen because the building itself slows people down.

  1. i.

Extensive beauty, spa and wellness facilities, including a Roman-inspired thermal circuit

  2. ii.

Surrounded by three golf courses, a tranquil lake, a Roman amphitheatre and more than 1,200 original works of art

  3. iii.

Andalusian haute cuisine, a private beach club on the Costa del Sol, and kitchens willing to cook the way we eat here

Your room

Deluxe rooms with garden or golf views, generous light and blackout for the nights. Single occupancy is genuinely single — no sharing with a stranger.

Chapter IV · The Method

Four pillars, repeated daily.

Nothing exotic and nothing extreme. Four inputs, given to you in the right order, for four consecutive days — which is how long it takes for a body to believe you.

Pillar I

Move

Morning yoga flow and mat pilates with our hosts. Flow to warm the tissue and start the lymph; pilates for the deep core, pelvic floor and fascia. Every morning at the same hour — the movement is the alarm clock the body understands.

Pillar II

Flow

Manual lymphatic drainage — slow, light, rhythmic work that supports fluid movement and leaves the body lighter and less puffy. Paired with dry brushing, hydration and a six-minute self-drainage sequence you keep for life.

Pillar III

Fuel

An anti-inflammatory table for four days: olive oil first, plants at volume, protein at every meal, something fermented daily, nothing heavy late at night. Plus a cooking class built around dishes you will actually repeat.

Pillar IV

Still

Sound healing, guided meditation, breath practice — and long afternoons with nothing scheduled in them at all. Stillness is not the reward at the end of the work. It is half of the work.

Chapter V · Designed for Women

Built around the female body.

Most retreats are softer versions of programmes designed for men. This one is written the other way round — around cortisol, cycles, fluid, gut and sleep.

i.

Cortisol, not calories

Flat energy, disrupted cycles, water retention and 3am waking are stress signals, not discipline problems. The week is deliberately under-scheduled so the body can lower the volume.

ii.

Fluid and lymph

Gentle drainage and daily movement to support circulation and fluid balance — the puffiness, the heavy legs and the tightness so many women simply live with.

iii.

Gut, fibre and hormones

The gut is where used hormones are cleared. Four days of fibre diversity, fermented foods and olive oil — and a plate you can rebuild at home on a Tuesday night.

iv.

Perimenopause and sleep

Cool rooms, protein at every meal, strength through pilates, light in the morning and dark at night — the levers that matter most when sleep turns fragile.

Educational and restorative, not medical care. Tell us in advance about pregnancy, recent surgery or any cardiovascular or lymphatic condition, so treatments can be adapted.

Chapter VI · The Days

The Days.

A loose architecture, not a schedule. Mornings move the body; afternoons are yours; evenings gather. Each day has a theme, and each theme has a reason.

Day I · 23 Oct

Arrive

Put the bags down. The nervous system begins its down-shift before anything else is asked of it.

Day II · 24 Oct

Soften

Rhythm. The circadian reset, the first drainage, and the sound bath that undoes the last of the noise.

Day III · 25 Oct

Wander

Roots. Pilates, then the mountains and the olive groves — attention turned outward and downward, into the land.

Day IV · 26 Oct

Reset

Integration. The thermal circuit, the closing meditation, and one long table under the pergola.

Day V · 27 Oct

Carry

A slow morning and departures by noon — with the protocol written down and the first twenty-one days mapped.

Four days will not change your life. It is exactly enough to change your baseline — and to learn the protocol that holds it.

Subject to graceful change · Nothing is compulsory · Every afternoon can be given back to you

Chapter VII · The Table

Anti-inflammatory, and delicious anyway.

Most meals are included, and every one of them is doing something. Andalusian cooking is already close to the way we want to eat — we simply tilt it.

What is on the table

Extra virgin olive oil from the new harvest, poured generously and never heated hard. Thirty-odd different plants across the week, for fibre diversity and the gut microbiome. Protein at every meal, to hold blood sugar and muscle. Oily fish, deep-coloured fruit, herbs, nuts and seeds. Something fermented daily. Water, herbal infusions, and enough magnesium-rich food to help you sleep.

What is not

Ultra-processed food, refined sugar, hard-fried seed oils and late, heavy dinners. Alcohol is present but never the point — the aperitivo has a beautiful non-alcoholic version, and most guests find they stop bothering by the second night. Vegetarian, pescatarian, gluten-free and other requirements are catered for; tell us when you book.

The eating window

Breakfast in the light, lunch as the main meal, dinner early and lighter, and roughly three hours before sleep. Not a fast, not a rule — simply the pattern that gives the gut a night off and the sleep its depth back.

Chapter VIII · The Twelve

Who this is for.

Twelve spaces, because thirteen changes the room. Small enough that the hosts know your name and your history by the second morning.

The woman who is functioning perfectly well and knows, privately, that she is running on reserves.

Anyone in the years where sleep, energy and cycles have changed and nobody has explained why.

Travellers who want a retreat that is genuinely restorative — not a bootcamp, not a juice fast, not a fortnight of silence.

Friends, mothers and daughters coming as a pair, and solo travellers who would rather arrive alone and leave with eleven others.

Come as you are

No fitness level is required. Every practice is offered with modifications, every walk has a shorter route, and every afternoon can be given back to you. The only real prerequisite is a willingness to be unreachable for four days.

Perhaps not this time

If you are looking for medical treatment, clinical detox, or a diagnosis, this is not that — and we would rather say so now. We are happy to point you towards the right practitioner instead.
